Sahara Group founder Subrata Roy passes away

Subrata Roy, the founder of Sahara India Pariwar, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, following an extended battle with several health issues. He was 75.

Sharing the news, the Sahara group, in a statement said, "Saharasri ji an inspirational leader and visionary, passed away on 141h November 2023 at 10.30 pm due to cardiorespiratory arrest following an extended battle with complications arising from metastatic malignancy, hypertension, and diabetes.”

He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute (KDAH) on 12th November 2023, following a decline in health, stated the company.

Born on June 10, 1948, in Araria, Bihar, Roy was a prominent figure in the Indian business landscape, having established a vast empire that spanned various sectors including media, finance, real estate, media, and hospitality. The company at one time run several news channels under Sahara News Network.
